For TUI InfoTec GmbH/Group IT in Berlin or Hanover we are seeking with immediate effect a: Big Data, Analytics and Machine Learning Leader (w/m/d)

As a Big Data, Analytics and Machine Learning Leader you will perform a crucial role in defining and communicating the business requirements for our new, leading-edge multi-channel marketing platform powered by Big Data technology. As Head of Big Data, Analytics and Machine Learning you will help define and implement a multi-year enterprise analytics strategy to support TUIs vision. In detail this will entail:

  • Implementing new strategic use cases in collaboration with enterprise Business Units, setting priorities, building new analytic capabilities, and driving value creation through coordination of business & technical resources
  • Being responsible for implementing and supporting data integration, data quality, and data management within our enterprise wide data environment across application data management, master data management, reference data management, source systems, analytics sandbox and scale production data
  • Becoming  part of the Digital Platforms team who own TUIs mobility apps across iOS & Android, allowing us the ability to pull through customer facing interactions and data to take insights from analysis and leverage this information to provide a better service to our customers
  • Shaping the Big Data, Analytics and Machine Learning strategy and communicating a clear vision, strategy and roadmap to all stakeholders
  • Leading the transformation of the company towards an AI enabled organisation bringing best practice insights and solutions from across the enterprise
  • Collaborating with technology teams on the evolution of analytics technology stack
  • Developing standards and processes for analytics solution development and implementation across all critical customer facing functions within the company
  • Shaping the technology strategy along with the technology management team particularly pertaining to data & analytics technology stack, critical workflows and channel infrastructure
  • Leading and mentoring the Data Integration & Analytics team to implement best practices in BI and ETL (e.g. warehouse, analytics and application architecture best practices, ITIL, change management, SDLC, DevOps, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, coding standards, etc.)
  • Managing data architects and senior developers to define a strategy around the data warehouse, data marts, data-lake, etc.
  • Collaborating with customers, BI team members, DBA's, etc. to create project plans, estimates and resource schedules
  • Working closely with team members, internal customers, suppliers, DBAs, Deployment team and Infrastructure team to design, test, implement and support data management and ETL solutions
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience as a leader in Big Data, Data Infrastructure and Processing, Data Science and / or Analytics
  • Broad understanding of latest data science, analytics and technology trends and their impact on business strategies & operations
  • Excellent knowledge of Big Data Architecture, ETL, Data-modelling (preferably with star-schema designs), Database Design and Data Warehousing
  • Experience in managing large enterprise Data Warehouse solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Big Data tools, architectures and cloud computing (i.e. Hadoop, Data Lakes, AWS)
  • Proficient knowledge of SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) or one of the leading enterprise ETL tools, such as Informatica PowerCenter, Microsoft SSIS, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Pentaho or Talend for designing and developing ETL solutions
  • Strong data integration experience using different techniques such as ETL, ELT and API
  • Experience in managing small to mid-sized teams in a dynamic BI environment
  • Proven ability in planning and managing internal projects and scheduling resources using rapid waterfall and agile techniques
  • Strong RDBMS experience using Stored Procedures with SQL Server
  • Experience in Version Control tools, such as SVN, GIT or a similar enterprise version control software
  • Exposure to Process Control Tools such as Service Now, Jira or a similar enterprise process control software
  • Experience in overseeing the technical design and implementation of lifecycle activities associated with the extract, transform and loading (ETL) of database tables with automated utilities, ETL tools and SQL programs
  • Hands on experience with ML or AI technologies
